Steam Extraction Carpet Cleaning

The carpet cleaning process begins with a pre-vacuum of the areas to be cleaned.. This is typically completed by the homeowner prior to arrival, but we are happy to assist if needed! During this process, the homeowner should also move any personal items or small furniture off of the carpeted areas to make them available both for vacuuming and for cleaning. We are happy to help with moving any furniture as well, though an additional fee may apply.

The carpet cleaning process:

• First, we apply an enzyme based pre-spray with a basic deodorizer to the carpet using a high pressure sprayer on a low pressure setting. This pre-spray works similar to soap in that it bonds to many things in the carpet that water would not otherwise want to bond to. This chemical reaction helps the rinsing process to remove more debris from your carpets than “dry” cleaning methods that only use pads.

• The carpet is then allowed a “dwell” time where we allow the pre-spray to work its magic before rinsing it with a hot water extraction tool. This tool utilizes water that has been heated in excess of 180 degrees to rinse the pre-spray at approximately 300 psi before being swept up into the vacuum chamber of the tool and carried outside to the disposal tank.

• The carpet is then dry vacuumed two times for every one “wet” stroke to ensure that moisture, pre-spray and debris are all completely removed and nothing is left behind except for fresh, clean carpet! Spot treatment is performed as needed during this process at no additional charge.
