Area Rug Cleaning Process

Our cleaning methods are safe for all floor types, meaning we can even clean your area rug right on your hardwood!

The standard clean:

• First, we apply an enzyme based pre-spray with a basic deodorizer to the area rug using a high pressure sprayer on a low pressure setting. This pre-spray works similar to soap in that it bonds to many things in the rug that water would not otherwise want to bond to. This chemical reaction helps the rinsing process to remove more debris from your rug and is safe on most synthetic blends

• The rug is then allowed a “dwell” time where we allow the pre-spray to work its magic before rinsing it with a hot water extraction tool. This tool utilizes water that has been heated in excess of 180 degrees to rinse the pre-spray at approximately 300 psi before being swept up into the vacuum chamber of the tool and carried outside to the disposal tank.

• The rug is then dry vacuumed three to four times for every one “wet” stroke to ensure that moisture, pre-spray and debris are all completely removed and nothing is left behind except for fresh, clean carpet! Spot treatment is performed as needed during this process at no additional charge.

The “dry” clean:

• First, we apply a dry clean pre-spray with a basic deodorizer to the area rug using a spray bottles in a misting manner. This pre-spray works similar to soap in that it bonds to many things in the rug that water would not otherwise want to bond to. This chemical reaction is similar to the standard cleaning method, but does not use a hydrophilic enzyme.

• The rug is then allowed a “dwell” time where we allow the pre-spray to work its magic before extracting with our powerful vacuum. The vacuum is powered by a 4 cylinder engine located outside in the van and is guaranteed to suck out lots of nasty debris and bacteria from your rug!

• The rug is then dry vacuumed three to four times for every one “wet” stroke to ensure that any moisture, pre-spray and debris are all completely removed and nothing is left behind except for fresh, clean carpet! Spot treatment is performed as needed during this process at no additional charge.
